Ty Rogers, Founder of Nova Energy
Ty began working in the Petroleum Industry back in 1995 when he was hired to manage a 7 state sales territory for Phibro Energy. In 1997 Phibro was purchased by Valero and he was immediately contacted by several energy companies for management positions due to his extensive understanding of how to optimize customer relationships. In 1997 he was hired by Koch Industries in Dallas, TX managing their Texas Pipeline rack system. At Koch he was trained in the area of hedging and trading fundamentals. In 2000 he was relocated to Georgia to head up the sales and marketing team for one of the largest regions for Koch Industries where they handled more than 70 terminals. In 2007 Ty earned his Series 3 license to trade in commodities and futures. Since that date, Ty has lead customers to stronger profits by utilizing his knowledge and experience to hedge the costs of their supplies to future contracts. Ty received his MBA in 2003 from Georgia State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance from the University of Southern Alabama.
Darrin Haugan, Vice President at Nova Energy,
Darrin has come full circle from where he began his career work on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange back in 1987. Working in the Eurodollar futures pit managing customers positions, Darrin gained valuable knowledge of how local brokers utilize the technical elements of the market to make profits. In 1988, he left the futures market to pursue a successful career in the building industry where he was a senior member of several building products companies most recently the Senior Vice President of Nichiha USA, an international manufacturer where he helped lead sales and marketing teams to grow business for 5 consecutive years during the worst downturn in the history of the housing industry. In 2012 he earned his Series 3 license to trade in commodities and futures. Darrin received his MBA from Roosevelt University in Chicago in 1994 and has an undergraduate degree in Marketing from Eastern Illinois University
